What has happened to the crowd’s responses that I experienced in my first and second Night of the Champion wins - 1975-79? There would be crowds outside the theater doors. IT WAS MAGICAL!

Overly adoring women and fans were running up and down the aisles. I wore a black cape with the "BLACK PRINCE" burned in the VELVET SILK. The fans would be trying to TEAR themselves a piece of the cape. I FELT LIKE A ROCK STAR. It was maddening.

MR OLYMPIA WINNER
"THA BLADE"
DEXTER JACKSON
Even at the ‘89 ARNOLD CLASSIC the fans were STANDING UP CHEERING DURING MY AND RICH GASPARI’S POSE DOWN. They were SCREAMING at the top of their lungs, “It’s yours, Robby!” with every mandatory pose. I LOVED IT! I still get goose bumps when I think of it. Those times are memorial for me - forever locked in my memory of flash backs.

After viewing the performances at the Mr. Olympia and the New York Pro show of winners, DEXTER “The Blade” JACKSON FIRST TIME WINNER and “The Marvelous One” MELVIN ANTHONY FIRST PRO WIN.

NY PRO WINNER
"THE MARVELOUS ONE"
MELVIN ANTHONY
Both displayed the top shape of the year. With conditioned physiques like theses in the line-up, I might start going to more bodybuilding competitions.

MELVIN AND DEXTER GAVE BODYBUILDING THE SHOT IN THE ARM IT NEEDED

Finally the I.F.B.B. judges are allowing their better judgment do the right thing.

ANY JUDGE FOR THE NPC / IFBB PRO DIVISION
THAT CASTS HIS VOTE IN FAVOR OF
 A BODYBUILDER WITHA BLOATED GUT
SHOULD BE BANNED FROM JUDGING

LET'S START A NEW YEAR WITH A CLEAN SLATE!

BODYBUILDING IS ABOUT
GENETICS, MUSCLE SIZE,
BEAUTIFUL SHAPE IN EACH MUSCLE GROUP,
DEEP SEPARATION BETWEEN MUSCLE GROUPS,
MUSCLE DENSITY AND HARDNESS,
TIGHT ALL-OVER

That’s the look I strived to achieve each time I decided to walk on stage during my 27 year career.

6-PACK FROM TOP TO BOTTOM
OR DON'T GET UP THERE -
IT'S MANDATORY !

Being able to achieve this faded look of the old days is awe inspiring. Their performances got my blood boiling. SEEING THEM IN THAT KIND OF COMPETITIVE SHAPE brought back memories of the Bird Man, Arnold The Oak, Columbu, Corney, and The Black Prince himself.

REAL BODYBUILDING HE-MEN

www.robbyrobinson.net/books.php
As Bill Phillips wrote 10 years ago in his 3rd edition of book Sport Supplement Review, “The look from the golden age of bodybuilding would return.” His PREDICTION is now starting to become the reality of the future of BB.

MY SPORT deserves to be honored in the same way as other sports are in the Olympics. TABLE TENNIS is in there.

As I write this piece for my Blog, I can still hear Joe Weider’s conversations about HIS GOAL. But something clouded HIS vision SOMEWHERE IN THEIR SELFISHNESS and GREED TOOK OVER.

THAT’S ALWAYS A BAD OMEN

PEACE, ROBBY

Amen, Preach on Robby!! I, too, believe that physiques like Dexter's should, and hopefully will, be the future of our sport. Having befriended men like Dave Draper and Tom Platz, and reading the blog of Robby Robinson, it still amazes me to witness the passion that you still have for our art. The honest voice of the Black Prince continues to be heard and at 18 years old, I hope to hear it for a very long time. I can't imagine what it was like to be a part of the comraderie that was bodybuilding in the 60s, 70s, and 80s, but through legends like yourself, I'm given a glimpse. Thanks Robby and keep doin what you do.
